Volunteer for a sustainability project

November 17, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

Troop 77 would like to invite the Cubscouts of Pack 130 to participate in a joint Troop/Pack sustainability project in the Jura mountains on Sunday 17 November 2019.

With a view to the serious problem of deforestation on our planet, the objective is to plant trees (in this case 600!) and do our bit to help our planet combat climate change. One of our scouts was was inspired to take up this project,  having seen a documentary on research done by the EPFZ university in Zurich, advocating reforestation as major weapon in CO2 absorption (see below) and hence slowing down climate change.

LOCATION: Chézery-Forens, 01410, France (Close to Col de La Faucille)

DATE: 17 November 2019

TIME: 10h00-17h00 (optional hours, morning or afternoon)

In addition, participation in this project would contribute to cubs’ World Conservation Award ‘Panda’ badge – see requirements below.

We realise that timing is slightly tight and hence maybe difficult to mobilise the whole Pack but if any Dens would be keen to participate (perhaps in line with a Den advancement project) this would be great. Please therefore sound out your dens to see if there is interest – and of course revert to Christer Malmberg (copied) or myself with questions. For those interested, more information on the event details will follow closer to the date.

We hope to see the P130 Cubs at this event!
